QUESTION – I am starting week 4 and I seem to be stuck in the weight loss area. I’m losing inches but i still have a lot of weight to lose. Anyone have any recommendations on how to break a stall?
ANSWER – I ran into the same thing. I just couldn’t break the 202 lbs marker. Finally I broke it and pushed through. Now I am sitting at 200. Now I have to admit that I cheated on my fast last night, but we start our fast around 4PM and try not to eat till around 7:00AM. This helps the body “feed” on its fat and help break the stall.
Doing a good workout will also help kick in the ketones.
Also, incorporate MCT oil and Grass Fed Butter. They shoot right to the liver and help the liver produce ketones.
To break my fast and help kick-start ketone production, I drink the following very first thing in the morning…
28 ounces of water with the following:
2-3 Dashes of Cayenne Pepper
2-3 Slices of lime – NOT LEMON
2-3 Tbls of Apple Cider Vinegar
2-3 Dashes of pink Himalayan sea salt
2-3 Dashes of Turmeric
Drinking this first thing in the morning is beneficial to the body in a number of ways.
Cayenne Pepper will help the body burn more calories for about 30-45 more minutes longer after breaking your fast.
Lime contains Limonene – this triggers the liver to do a short detox.
ACV will help with probiotics and boosting the immune system.
Turmeric, this helps the liver as well as help reduce inflammation. It turns the drink a bright yellow too.
Finally, the water hydrates after a fast and there are a number of studies talking about the positive impact drinking water first thing in the morning.
I have integrated this into my routine and I am feeling the benefits.
